Online booking: subscription or custom-built?

Appointments, classes, visits, rooms: taking bookings online saves time and wins clients. There are two ways: online software paid every month, or a module built for your website. Here is how to choose without regrets.

01

What online booking must do.

Whatever the tool, check these points:

  • offer only slots that are really free, with a limit on places;
  • show a clear summary before confirming;
  • send a confirmation by e-mail, to the client and to you;
  • let you close a day or a period in a few taps;
  • apply your cancellation rules and, if you want, take a deposit;
  • work perfectly on a phone.

02

Subscription software.

It is quick to set up and often has many features: text reminders, several calendars, sync with other tools.

In return, it is paid every month for as long as you use it, some take a commission, and the display remains the software’s own, sometimes on a site other than yours.

03

A custom module.

It is built for your website, in your colours and following your rules, and you own it. It is paid once; any hosting or e-mail sending costs stay low and are stated in the quote.

It suits businesses with clear rules: one type of session, rooms, limited places.

04

How to choose.

  • You have several practitioners, several calendars and need text reminders: existing software is often simplest.
  • You want booking to be part of your website, with your rules and no software subscription: custom-built makes sense.
  • You are unsure: describe your business before the quote, and I will tell you honestly which way suits you.

05

Try it.

The Transversale demo shows a complete booking flow: journey, seats, summary. The “Your website in 30 seconds” demo composes a coach website with booking and shows the starting price.
